Last week, I explored Phase 1: how AI agents coordinate through predetermined workflows. This article examines Phase 2, during which agents learn to negotiate autonomously.
Imagine: A semiconductor shortage is detected in Stuttgart. Within 15 minutes, agents from Taiwan, Korea, and the US discover each other, negotiate terms, form a coalition, and present a verified solution. No human is involved until the final approval.
This isn't 2035. The protocols enabling this (A2A, ACP, ANP) shipped in 2025. Companies are already building Phase 2 systems.
Part 2 covers:
→ The three technical pillars (semantic frameworks, trust protocols, negotiation algorithms)
→ A minute-by-minute walkthrough of autonomous coordination
→ How your role transforms (CFO, Supply Chain, HR, Legal)
→ Which industries adopt first and why
→ The timeline: 2026-2029
Read Part 2 here.
Coming next week: Part 3, exploring Phase 3—the emergence of collective intelligence.
