AI is reshaping work across industries from automating routine, process-driven tasks to taking on increasingly complex knowledge work. It streamlines operations, generates personalized marketing campaigns, optimizes logistics, and even influences hiring decisions. But for all its speed and sophistication, AI still can’t coach a struggling team, resolve human conflict, or lead with empathy and moral clarity. That’s where emotionally intelligent leadership becomes not just valuable, but critical.
In this deeply researched and timely book, Dr. Mikah Sellers reveals why emotional intelligence is the defining human advantage in an AI-driven world—and how to design leadership development programs that cultivate it for real, lasting transformation.
Based on original research and immersive fieldwork with senior executives, Forging Emotionally Intelligent Leaders in the Age of AI challenges conventional leadership development models and offers a powerful new blueprint rooted in neuroscience and adult learning theory, and is packed with insights derived from hundreds of hours of interviews with C-suite leaders.

About the author,
Dr. Mikah Sellers.
Dr. Mikah Sellers is an enterprise transformation executive, bestselling author, and workforce futurist with more than twenty years of experience leading organizations through the intersection of AI strategy, leadership development, and large-scale organizational change.
His career has spanned the C-suite — as Chief Digital Officer, Chief Innovation Officer, and senior advisor to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and global enterprises — and the classroom, where he taught technology leadership at Georgetown University for over a decade, earning the Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty.
Forging Emotionally Intelligent Leaders in the Age of AI is the product of that dual life: doctoral research from the University of Pennsylvania translated into a practitioner framework for executives navigating the most consequential organizational shift of their careers. Its central argument — that the limiting factor in AI transformation is almost never the technology, but the quality of the human leadership surrounding it — is one Mikah has tested across boardrooms, advisory engagements, and executive education programs worldwide.
He is the founder of Empathos Consulting, co-host of the Forces of Change podcast, and a regular contributor on AI strategy and workforce transformation. He holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and Learning from the University of Pennsylvania and advanced credentials from the Wharton School.
